• Adolfo Urso (Deputy Trade Minister): said that the UN should look at ways to scrap Iraq's foreign debt after Saddam is deposed. "Otherwise Iraq would have an enormous burden from the outset". - 5th April

• Express support for this statement of 5th April.
• Ask for the Italian government to publically commit to writing off all debt and reparation claims on Iraq.
• Ask him to negotiate within the Paris Club cartel of creditors to encourage multilateral cancellation of all Saddam's debts and support Jubilee Iraq's proposal for a public arbitration tribunal to fairly assess the legitimacy of any remaining claims.
